Petition
Surveys of the Neighborhood
Oedipus, Inc.
designs and conducts petition surveys of the designated neighborhood
to "determine the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood
and the desires of the adult inhabitants" (per the Colorado
Beer Code, CRS 12-46, and the Colorado Liquor Code, CRS 12-47).
Surveys are performed on new license applications, change of locations,
modification of existing locations, etc. Our surveys have withstood
the rigorous test of CRS Rule 106 court actions in Colorado District
Courts and Colorado Court of Appeals decisions, and have been approved
by the Colorado Supreme Court for Continuing Legal Education Seminars
(CLE). Ask the local liquor licensing clerk about us.
Retail
Liquor Store Site Location
Oedipus, Inc.
evaluates the business potential of a site to determine customer
base, spendable (sic) liquor dollars, traffic exposure, competition,
and restrictions such as distances to schools or zoning. Such information
may be used for business loans, e.g. an SBA loan.
Once a site
has been chosen Oedipus, Inc.
assists the client through the application process and the public
hearing to obtain a retail liquor or 3.2% beer license.
Local
Government Land Use & Zoning
Oedipus, Inc.
performs neighborhood surveys on zonings, rezonings, planned unit
developments (PUD's), special tax districts, government issues,
etc. Surveys are contracted by local governments or private businesses.
Survey results are prepared into an opinion poll survey report and
used as an exhibit in testimony at the local government public hearing.
Liquor
Licensee Violations
Oedipus, Inc.
provides services to a licensee charged with a violation that could
result in the suspension or revocation of a license to sell retail
liquor or 3.2% beer.
Training
of Employees to Dispense Alcohol
Oedipus, Inc.
provides licensees and their staff training in the requirements
of the local liquor and beer codes, proper identification, and "hands
on" examples of false ID's. Training includes diagnostic and
final testing with a certification upon successful course completion.
